The brass and percussion section of the Vienna Academy Orchestra, consisting of highly experienced musicians, will be reinforced for this project by young artists from the Lower Austrian Youth Symphony Orchestra who have already impressed with their outstanding performances. The youth orchestra organises annual auditions for talented young musicians and has already worked on and performed works by Anton Bruckner this year.

The concert "Bruckner in Bad Ischl" promises great romance with music for organ and brass: organist Eivind Berg improvises on the themes that Bruckner played at the wedding of Archduchess Valerie, he plays the Fantasia on the Imperial Anthem by Viennese court organist Rudolf Dittrich and, together with the brass choir, the symphonic work by Bruckner's pupil Friedrich Klose. The impressive Triumphal March by Louis Vierne was composed for Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, while the wind version of the Adagio from the Seventh Symphony was played at Bruckner's funeral in Vienna's Karlskirche. Mauricio Kagel's "Märsche, um den Sieg zu verfehlen" provides the necessary thought-provoking contrast.
