Classic films, summer evenings, and an imperial atmosphere—once again this year, the Summer Cinema in Bad Ischl, as part of the Kaisertage festival, invites you to a special open-air movie experience.
After reviving memories of the famous film adaptation starring Romy Schneider and Karlheinz Böhm with the popular “Sissi” trilogy in recent years,
this year’s Summer Cinema is dedicated to another Austrian film classic: To mark the 100th anniversary of Peter Alexander’s birth, “Im weißen Rössl” will be screened.
This classic musical film exudes
charm, wit, and Austrian joie de vivre to this day, making it a perfect fit for
the historic setting of Bad Ischl
and the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. With its
operetta productions and its close ties to Austrian music and theater history, the festival has been
decades as one of the cultural highlights of the Salzkammergut.
Like almost no other film, “The White Horse Inn” combines humor, music, and a summer retreat with that special lightheartedness for which the Salzkammergut is known far beyond Austria’s borders. The summer cinema
