Every year on On 17 August Bad Ischl rolls out the red carpet for its customers to experience an Imperial stroll. Stroll to your heart’s content, chat, enjoy conviviality – experience majestic shopping moments on the imperial stroll.

The pavements are swept, the shops festively decorated, the festive traditional clothes ready… even a red carpet has been rolled out.

Annually the imperial town presents itself from a special side for one week to celebrate the emperor’s birthday. On the day of the “imperial stroll” it is all about our customers. Bad Ischl invites to a majestic shopping party. On a 2.5 km-long red carpet you can stroll through lanes that are steeped in history and parade along the most beautiful shops of Bad Ischl. Trade and crafts hops spoil with special delights, street artists provide for entertainment and places that are steeped in history invite to spend some time – just like at the time of the imperial court.
