Mythical Place

Rock grotto near Lauffen at Höllbach Brook. The legend has it that the devil in the shape of a hunter appeared to a beautiful forester’s daughter and showered her with precious jewellery to lure her into his cave. From the cave’s entrance she beckoned to woodworkers in a friendly fashion. When they followed her into the cave she showed them the glittering stones and the workers never returned from the cave.
