A variety of cultural events take place in Bad Ischl throughout the year. Whether jazz, operetta, poetry, boogie & blues or Irish-Celtic folk - Bad Ischl is a centre for cultural events of all kinds. Local customs are also not neglected and are celebrated several times a year in an incomparable way.

### Cultural organisations

Over the years, several clubs have formed with the aim of bringing a wide variety of artists and musical styles to Bad Ischl. This has resulted in a diverse programme that is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

### Jazz friends Bad Ischl

Since the association was founded in 1979, Jazzfreunde Bad Ischl has aimed to promote jazz in all its forms and present it to an interested audience. The focus is always on a particular country, its artists and music.

### Cultural association "Der Keller"

Whether Hubert von Goisern, Jools Holland or Irish Celtic folk, the cultural association "Der Keller" has been bringing nationally and internationally renowned artists to Bad Ischl for years, while also giving up-and-coming musicians a chance to present themselves to an audience.

**300 monuments located on the interactive city map**

 Several steps preceded the realisation of the cultural trails:

- In 2016, an [online presentation](https://www.friedhofsfuehrer.at/friedhof-bad-ischl/) was also developed with the new cemetery guide (published by the Ischler Heimatverein)
- In 2018, the idea was born to implement a similar online presentation from the published books "Literatenspaziergang" and "Denkmalführer" (publisher: Ischler Heimatverein)
- It was obvious to involve the Bad Ischl tourism association

Festivals in Bad Ischl
======================

Interesting festivals have been taking place in Bad Ischl for many years. The themes range from boogie & blues to poetry and classical music. Bad Ischl was also one of the venues for the Festival of Regions in 2021.

 In addition to the Lehár Festival in July and August, the Country Festival at Whitsun and the Winter Variety Festival in February are currently held every year.
