Immediately after the bridge, the former "Rettenbachmühle" inn is on the right, while a path leads to the "Hubhanslau" on the left. If you follow it, you will come to the "Gagarin memorial plaque" signpost after a few metres. The memorial plaque commemorates Prince Leon Gagarin and his son Vladimir, who drowned at this spot on 3 August 1868. It is assumed that the two were bathing when the sluices were opened in the Rettenbachalm for timber drifting.
