Climbing is a very popular sport. In Bad Ischl, climbing enthusiasts have several possibilities to pursue their hobby.

In the outdoor area there is the via ferrata on the Katrin.

There are also two climbing halls. This is on the one hand the hall of the Bad Ischl section of the Austrian Alpine Association (ÖAV) and, on the other hand, the K³ Sportscenter of the Naturfreunde Bad Ischl.

300m-long route leads along an edge and is quite exposed, yet it gets never really difficult – directly at the big summit cross you leave the face..

En route you can enjoy views of five lakes – Lake Traunsee, Lake Wolfgang, Lake Nussensee, Lake Schwarzensee, and if the view is good also Lake Fuschlsee and on your descent Lake Hallstätter See. You can also enjoy a fantastic view of Dachstein Mountain.

Thanks to the cable car, this is a nice route for an afternoon that can be conquered in two hours starting from the top terminal.
