For many decades, Bad Ischl has offered the opportunity to enjoy this sport on the Rettenbachalm. Either via the former ski slope or via the Windengraben. There are two refreshment stops at the top. The [Katrin Almhütte](https://en.katrinseilbahn.com/kulinarik/katrin-almhuette "Link öffnet sich in neuem Fenster") and the [Katrin Berggasthof](https://en.katrinseilbahn.com/kulinarik/katrin-berggasthof "Link öffnet sich in neuem Fenster"). Last cable car descent: 4 pm **Please note: The Katrin mountain is not a secured ski area!** Snowshoeing and winter hiking ----------------------------- There are several opportunities for snowshoeing in and around Bad Ischl. The hiking trails are often close to groomed cross-country ski trails, ski touring trails or ski slopes. Please remember not to walk on these with snowshoes! ### Snowshoeing onto the Katrin mountain Hike up the Katrin mountain on snowshoes and enjoy the beautiful view as well as the culinary delights. There are also several sun loungers to relax on after the ascent. **Please note:** The hiking trails on the Katrin are not accessible in winter! ### **Snowshoeing on the Rettenbachalm** In addition to the cross-country ski trails, the Rettenbachalm also offers the opportunity to go on extended snowshoe and winter hikes.
