9:00 a.m. Church service for Liachtbratlmontag with parade,
Marching concert by the local band Mitterweissenbach and the Bad Ischl Salinenkapelle

Liachtbratlmontag is the day on which artificial light had to be used at work for the first time in autumn. This meant that businesses saved money during the summer months, and the foreman gave his employees a 'Bratl' (=roast).
In Bad Ischl, all those celebrating a 'round birthday' this year are specially honoured.
In the morning, there is the traditional photo opportunity on the main staircase in front of the Kongress und TheaterHaus.
All 50-, 60-, 70- and 80-year-olds (even older people travel in decorated horse-drawn carriages) then march through the town in a procession to celebrate Holy Mass together in the parish church after laying a wreath at the war memorial. Afterwards, they return to the Kurpark, where the national anthem is sung together. The rest of the day is spent on excursions in the Salzkammergut. To celebrate the day, the jubilarians receive flowers and small gifts from the numerous spectators.

Liachtbratlmontag is a local public holiday in Bad Ischl. From midday, almost all companies and offices close to allow employees to celebrate.
The holiday is reserved exclusively for Bad Ischl and its residents. This tradition does not exist in the neighbouring communities, but vintage celebrations are becoming increasingly popular.
